The Last Light – Thistle Botanical Artwork

£65.00

A thistle catches the final warmth of the day, its sharp structure softened by fading light and the quieter colours of the surrounding grasses. For a brief moment, something often dismissed as rough or troublesome becomes luminous.

Thistles have long represented resilience, protection and the ability to thrive in difficult ground. Their flowers also provide an important source of food for bees, butterflies and other insects, while their seeds sustain birds later in the year.

The Last Light began with a photograph taken while walking with Vera, my German Shepherd. It was carefully developed through colour, texture and expressive mark-making to capture that fleeting moment when the lowering sun transformed the plant and everything around it.

The artwork is presented in a light-oak studio frame with a clean white mount and real glass. It comes ready to hang, accompanied by a signed Certificate of Authenticity and a personal note telling the story behind the work.

One walk. One artwork. No editions.
