Summer Riot began with my own photograph of wild plants growing together at the height of summer. I developed the image through many stages, building its pinks, reds, oranges and deep greens while adding washes, texture and movement. Some details remain recognisable while others dissolve into colour, capturing the joyful disorder of a summer border allowed to grow freely. This is a one-of-one photographic artwork, produced once only on Hahnemühle German Etching paper, signed, mounted and framed in light oak.
