A male mallard stands confidently in the shallow water, his glossy green-blue head, warm chest and brilliant wing markings emerging from the darker wetland colours around him.
There is nothing particularly vulnerable about this duck. Alert, colourful and full of attitude, he seems ready to challenge anyone foolish enough to describe him as an easy target.
Who Are You Calling a Sitting Duck? began with a photograph taken while walking with Vera, my German Shepherd. It was carefully developed through colour, texture and expressive mark-making to create a unique, one-of-one wildlife artwork.
The piece is presented in a light-oak studio frame with a crisp white mount and real glass. It comes ready to hang, accompanied by a signed Certificate of Authenticity and a personal note telling the story behind the work.
One walk. One artwork. No editions.
